Work and Holiday visa (Subclass 462) lets people 18 to 30 years old (or 35 years old for some countries) have their first extended holiday in Australia and work here to help fund their trip.

You may hold this visa for maximum 3 times, one year each.

Each of your family members should lodge a separate application should they wish to join you in Australia.
3 Work and Holiday Visas

1st Work and Holiday visa

for applicants from certain countries to work or enjoy their first extended holiday in Australia

2nd Work and Holiday Visa

for current/previous Work and Holiday visa holders who have completed at least 3 months of specified work while on the 1st Work and Holiday visa

for current/previous Work and Holiday visa holders who have completed at least 6 months of specified work while on the 2nd Work and Holiday visa

Eligibility
1st Work and Holiday Visa
Be a citizen of and hold a valid passport from one of these countries
Be aged 18 to 30 years old (inclusive) when you apply
Have functional English
Meet health and character requirements
Have sufficient funds to support yourself while in Australia and when you leave (usually $5000 + airfare)
Provide a letter of support from your government if you are from Ecuador, Greece, Indonesia, Luxembourg, Malaysia (Good Conduct Certificate), Peru, Poland, San Marino, Slovenia, Thailand or Turkey
2nd Work and Holiday Visa
Be a citizen of and hold a valid passport from one of these countries/jurisdictions
Be aged 18 to 30 years old (inclusive) when you apply
hold or previously have held your first Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462)
have entered Australia on the visa
have complied with all the conditions on your first Work and Holiday visa
If in Australia, hold a visa (except bridging visa) or your last visa (except bridging visa) expired less than 28 days ago
If outside Australia: have sufficient funds to support yourself while in Australia and when you leave (usually $5000 + airfare)
Have completed at least 3 months of specified work in specified regions of Australia
Meet health and character requirements
3rd Work and Holiday Visa
Be a citizen of and hold a valid passport from one of these countries/jurisdictions
Be aged 18 to 30 years old (inclusive) when you apply
Hold or previously have held a second Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462)
have entered Australia on the visa
have complied with all the conditions on your first Work and Holiday visa
If in Australia, hold a visa (except bridging visa) or your last visa (except bridging visa) expired less than 28 days ago
If outside Australia: have sufficient funds to support yourself while in Australia and when you leave (usually $5000 + airfare)
Have completed at least 6 months of specified work in specified regions of Australia
Meet health and character requirements

This visa is valid for 1 year.
